Best Island Food at Marley's Island Grille
I had the pleasure of dining at "Marley's Island Grille in South Carolina. They are known for their famous grilled Island dishes. My daughter choose that restaurant to celebrate my special occasion which was my "Graduation." Coming from a caribbean background, I like spicy well seasoned foods. With that being said, I am very particular whenever I eat at a restaurant especially the ones that serve caribbean dishes.
Hello, World!
We both looked at the menu on their website, before we made reservations.Every meal looked mouth watering delicious. My daughter reserved outside seating since the day of the graduation , the weather would have been beautiful and sunny. Upon our arrival, the waitress took us to our seats. Our guest were waiting for us while playing games which were offered to them at a fee. There was a live band playing. One of their famous entertainment is crab racing, which we didn't get to experience.

Once we were seated, we noticed a few insects flying around our table. The restaurant had a regualr size citronella candle for a large table. While waiting for our drinks,my guests as well as myself were continuously interupted and bitten by these fruit flies. We were extremely uncomfortable and annoyed. We notified the waitress of the problem, and she was able to switch us to an inside seating. the atmosphere was very calm with the lights slightly deemed. The decor was very colorful and bright with caribbean vibes and reggae music playing throughout the restaurant.

For starters,my daughter ordered the Island "Appetizer Platter". It indluded 1/3 rack of barbecue ribs, jerk grill chicken skewers, Island shrimp with beef thai sticks.Everyone enjoyed all the appetizers that was served in that platter.. Every meat was marinated to my liking. The ribs hardly had any fat and the meat was falling of the bone. The shrimps were grilled and covered with a slighty sweet tangy sauce. The beef thai meat was tasty and tender. As for the skewers, the spices were on point. But , they were very spicy with the jerk seasoning. Some of my guests could not handle the heat.
Hello, World!
For my main course,I ordered the "Jerk and Barbecue combo. I had 1/2 jerk chicken,1/3 rack of barbecue ribs,Island rice and beans that was well flavored. I also had one of my favorites', fried plantain on the side. Overall, my meal was exquisite and I had a great experience. The food took me back home to the islands with the spices and great flavors.
Hello, World!
The food portions were enough for two servings. I ended up taking a doggy bag home. Two of my guests, which included my daughter had ordered fish and chips. Each fried fish could have served two people by the large size of the fish.Everyone was so friendly by complementing me on my achievement. Marley's Island Grille restaurant was nice enough to allow my daughter to bring my graduation cake to share with my guests. As we all know, most restaurants do not allow outside food. We all had a wonderful time and the food was to die for.Unfortunately, we didn't try the alcoholic drinks because we all had a long drive back home to Georgia andd Alabama. I would love to go back to try their other delicious dishes.
Hello, World!
One thing that we disliked was the parking. It was extremely limited. We had to park our vehicles far from the restaurant and walk for about 10 minutes to the restaurant. That was truly a big disappointment.
If you are passing through South Carolina, stop by "Marley's Island Grill"and try some of their amazing island dishes. You can also enjoy a cool stroll on the beach whcih is not to far from the restaurant after dinning.
