How To Cook Caribbean Steamed Cabbage
1/2 of a small cabbage
1 large tomato
2 tbsps of green seasoning
1 tbsp of vegetable/ olive oil
1 pack of sazon
1 pinch of dry thyme
A few sprinkles of seasoning salt
Prep
Finely chop the half of cabbage
Remove seeds from tomato and cut into small pieces.
Cooking
Heat oil in skillet
Add green seasoning
Add sazon
Add thyme
Stir on medium heat
Add tomato and stir
Add cabbage and stir until other ingredients are spread throughout the cabbage.
Let it simmer on low heat covered for 20 minutes
If you like your cabbage crispy simmer for
10 minutes
Stir occasionally
Add 1/3 cup of warm water to prevent
the cabbage from sticking at the bottom of the pot.
Can be served with any side dish!
