MORNING STAR VEGAN 1/4 POUND BURGERS REVIEW
I try to eat healthy as much as I can. I do not eat red meat often maybe once every couple of months. I have tried meatless products before and I was not a fan of it. I still enjoy eating chicken and seafood. I saw this plant base product in my grocery store, and I decided to give it a shot.
I came across these “Morning Star” Mega Burgers.
I stood at that freezer contemplating if whether or not
I should purchase it. These vegan plant base burgers
look so real, they were identical to beef burgers.
It was like making a serious life decision standing in
front of that freezer at my local grocery store, lol.
To my knowledge, most meatless burgers are bean
burgers. But these were protein and plant base.
I am one of those folks that read every ingredient on
a new grocery item. But at least I know what I am
putting into my body. I do have some food allergy like
some of us.
I was very surprised when I took the package and
read the ingredients. The burgers were made with
wheat and soy ingredients. I was amazed to see that
this company used seasonings since I love cooking
with seasonings. They were seasoned with garlic
and onion powder and spices not listed.
It does contain some cooked onion and carrot juice
concentrate and tomatoes.
As far as the oil sunflower and canola oil was used in
these burgers. It does have some yeast extract and
water. The protein was one of my concerns,
but I was assured when I read the protein percentage
was 27 grams per burger. The calories in these
burgers are 280 per serving and they are non-GMO
soy.
These plant-based burgers can actually be cooked in
three different ways, grilled is their preferred method,
in the skillet or in the microwave. I placed my burgers
on a baking sheet and broil them in the oven and
flipped them occasionally.
One thing that I did notice was that it produced a lot
of oil. I had to place them on a few paper towels
to drain the excess oil. Besides that, they look like
regular beef burgers coming off the grill.
I placed my vegan burger between my brioche buns
and I added my condiments just like a regular burger.
The aroma that was coming from my burger was
mouth-watering. I took my first bite and it was
unbelievable. The texture was absolutely mind-
blowing how close it was so to a regular burger.
The taste was a whole experience by itself. Now, I did
figure out one of the spices that they mention
as other spices, it was basil.
I never thought that I would have such experience
eating vegan burgers. I am happy that I gave it
another chance. I would definitely try these burgers
again.
Comment of the day:
Have you ever tried vegan burgers?
