Holiday Meal under $20
I know that some of you are are thinking that it is impossible to prepare a whole gourmet meal for the holidays. But this year I spent less than $20 on my thanksgiving dinner. If you want to cook with fresh ingredients it will no longer be a holiday meal on a budget.
I want to show you guys that are on a bugdet that you can prepare a gourmet meal for the holidays for your family. You don't need to empty your pockets to do so. I am going to break down my grocery list to show you how I did it.
My Thanksgiving Dinner menu:
Baked macaroni and cheese
Baked turkey
Baked ham
Turkey gravy
Greens
Corn bread
My family do not like stuffing nor cranberry
sauce but I will list the price for those of you
who do eat those two items.
Budget List:
2 boxes of macaroni and cheese $1.00
1 turkey $7.00
2 boxes of corn bread mix $1.00 (2 for $1)
1 medium can of mixed seasoned greens
($3.00)
2 packs of Grated mixed cheese ($2.00)
1 Small ham ($4.00)
Optional items:
Stuffing-$0.99-$1
1 medium can of cranberry sauce $1
Total Spent: $18+$1.44 tax
Thanksgiving Meal Cost: $19.44
My list is based on a household who has
the following items:
My extra ingredients were milk, eggs,
seasonings, spices, and white vinegar
This was our Thanksgiving meal on a
budget.
