GREEN SEASONING CARIBBEAN RECIPE
Green Seasoning is a blend of fresh herbs that I use in my recipes, especially my meats. This seasoning was introduced to me at a very young age by my dad who used it in all his dishes. When I visited my family in South America Guyana, every household's refrigerator had a jar of this seasoning. This Green Seasoning brings so much flavor to any recipe whether it is meat or an omelet.
Ingredients:
1 pack of fresh Thyme
3-5 sticks of celery cut into large pieces
1 large chopped onion
4-5 bunches of fresh Green onions chopped
1 garlic head
1 bunch of parsley chopped into big pieces
1 red Hot red pepper (optional)
2-3 pinches of salt
1 stem of bay leaves
Place all ingredients in a blender or a chopper
Add 2-3 tbsps of water if you are using a mini
chopper
1/3cup of water if you are using a blender
No water if you are using a food processor
1 Bunch of fresh thyme
Use a blender or use a food processor to blend
all the ingredients to form a paste. Add one 1
pinch of salt then store the green seasoning in
a glass jar and place it in the refrigerator. Make
sure that you always use a clean spoon for
each use. It can be refrigerated for up to a
month.
It can be used to marinate your meats, poultry, and
even your eggs.
