Tuna Pasta Salad
This week, I decided to take a break from eating meat. I wanted salad but, not the typical lettuce and tomatoes. For this recipe I used groceries that I usually have in my pantry. Most items are affordable even for college kids living on a budget. This recipe is under $10, most of the items are from the dollar store except for the Kraft Mayo Garlic & herbs from walmart and that's optional
You will need:
- Pasta (prefer short oblong lined)
- 2-3 cans of Tuna in water
- Miracle Whip
- Kraft mayo garlic &herbs
- Ranch dressing
- Green seasoning
- seasoning salt
- salt & pepper seasoning
- Bring to boil 1/2 bag of pasta. Once pasta is tender, use drainer to drain water from pasta and let it cool.DO NOT ADD ingredients to hot pasta.
- While pasta is cooling, start preparing tuna fish.
- Wash the top of the tuna cans and dry (for dust or other particles)
- Open cans and drain all water from can.
- Place tuna in a bowl and squeeze a slice of lemon using a small drainer so that the seeds are separated
- Add 2 tsp of green seasoning and mix
- Add seasoning to taste (seasoning salt and salt & pepper seasoning)
- Add pasta to tuna mixture and mix ( make sure tuna is spread evenly throughout the pasta)
- Add 3 tbsp. of miracle whip, Kraft mayo and ranch then mix
- Optional: add 1/2 tsp of green seasoning, a sprinkle of seasoning salt according to your taste.
- Refrigerate for 30mn then serve.
ENJOY!
